Elliot Valentine is a composer, lyricist, bookwriter and dramaturg. He writes queer speculative musical theater, using elements of horror and fantasy to converse with underrepresented experiences. He is currently studying Dramaturgy at the David Geffen School of Drama at Yale. Elliot holds a B. A. in English, Theater, Music Theater, and Gender and Sexuality Studies from Princeton University. In his spare time, Elliot Valentine writes pop music under the artist name elliotly. He uses he/him pronouns.
Elliot was an OpenAIR MT Artist in Residence (2024) and Live and In Color Musical Development Program Semi-Finalist for Ghost Story, Eugene O’Neill National Music Theater Conference Semifinalist for Adamandi (2023) and the recipient of Princeton’s Louis Sudler Prize in the Arts (2023), Francis LeMoyne Page Class of 1922 Prize (2023), The Mellor Award for Undergraduate Research (2022), and prizes for Outstanding Work in Theater and Music Theater (2020-2023). Other credits include Ring of Keys’ “Queering the Gala” at Joe’s Pub (2024) and LET’S HEAR IT FOR THE BOYS: a Transmasc Cabaret at the Green Room 42 (2024).
